News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

Kochi, July 13 (PTI) An anonymous telephone call threatening that buses to Bangalore would be burnt if "anything happened" to PDP leader Abdul Nasser Madani, an accused in the 2008 Bangalore blast cases, was received at the office of the Ernakulam district collector this morning. The call, received by the collector''s secretary at 10.40 am, repeated the message twice before disconnecting, collectorate sources said. Madani''s anticipatory bail application was rejected by a fast track court in Karnataka recently following which he has moved the high court. The collector''s office has informed the city police commissioner and Special Branch regarding the call, the sources said. However, since there was no caller identity facility at the collectorate, police were unable to trace the caller. Madani and 31 others were issued charge sheet for their alleged involvement in the blasts at Bangalore on July 25, 2008 which left a woman dead and injured 20 others.
