Bill to rename Orissa to come before Par in monsoon session

New Delhi, Jul 19 (PTI) The government will bring the CrPC Amendment Bill, the renaming of Orissa state as Odisha and the proclamation of Presidents rule in Jharkhand during the forthcoming monsoon session of Parliament. President Pratibha Patil has already given her assent to the Criminal Procedure Code (Amendment) Bill, which restrains the police from arresting a person for an offence for which the maximum sentence is up to 7-year imprisonment, official sources said. The bill, for renaming Odisha from Orissa, already cleared by the Orissa Assembly would also be placed in the Parliament. The Proclamation for imposing the Presidents rule in Jharkhand, since June this year would be also brought for approval during the monsoon session, they said.
