New Delhi, July 26 (PTI) Cardamom prices rose by Rs 21 to Rs 1,690 per kg in futures trading today as traders enlarged their positions on pick up in demand in the spot market. Restricted arrivals from the producing regions also influenced the rise in prices. On the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for August contract rose by Rs 21 or 1.25 per cent, to Rs 1,690 per kg, with a trading volume of 109 lots. The spice for October contract gained Rs 11.20 or 0.83 per cent to Rs 1,358 per kg, with a business turnover of 21 lots. September-month delivery went up by Rs 12 or 0.80 per cent, to Rs 1,501 per kg, with a trading volume of 74 lots. Traders said pick up in demand in the spot market against restricted arrivals from the producing regions led to the rise in cardamom prices at futures market.
