London, July 13 (ANI): Vice captain Michael Clarke has been rewarded for becoming Australia's most reliable middle-order batsman by being bumped up to No.4 in the Test lineup.Regular No.5 Clarke will swap places with Mike Hussey, starting from the opening Test against Pakistan at Lord's that begins on Tuesday, the Sydney Morning Herald reports.Captain Ricky Ponting said he has informed both Clarke and Hussey of the change in the batting order."That is the way it will be, not just in this series but going right through the Ashes series as well," the SMH quoted Ponting, as saying.Since the beginning of last year, Clarke has punched out 1,491 runs at 59.64 to Hussey's 1,078 runs at 39.92 over the same period. The promotion lifts the Test-captain-in-waiting closer to the hot seat of batting first drop, the spot he is expected to inherit from Ponting when the skipper retires from the game.Ponting said the move was more a reflection of Clarke's improvement in form than any slight on 35-year-old Hussey."It is just about how well he has played," Ponting said."I think his game is very well suited for higher up the order against the new ball, probably a bit more so than Hussey's is right at the moment," he added.
