News posted by www.newsinfoline.com

Gujarat, July 19 (ANI): Paddy farmers in Gujarat are eagerly waiting for rains as cultivation in the area has taken a backseat on account of poor rainfall. The farmers of Sanand city are complaining that the year has not seen enough rains to begin their cultivation and if the situation continues for the next ten to fifteen days, about 100,000 acres of land will be destroyed. Former officials of the village council say that if the rains are delayed further the village will incur losses of about 2 billion to 3 billion rupees. Solanki also said that there should be at least 7 inches of rain for paddy cultivation but the area has received only 1.5 inch so far.
