With the stage set for a perfect final, Suraj Beniwal was undoubtedly the star among the players who had won titles in their respective categories. Suraj, seeded fifth in the boys' Under-18 category, had just defeated fourth seed Nischay Rawal in straight sets in the final.And as he returned back on the court to play in the Under-18 doubles final partnering with Dhruv Aggarwal, the expectations of the crowd gathered around the court were getting high as the Haryana lad began his quest for a grand double. And the final outcome of the match read in his favour as Suraj and Dhruv outplayed Aayush Mintri and Atul Sri Patel 4-1, 4-0 to win the title in the AMUL-AITA Talent Series Tennis Tournament played at the CLTA Complex in Sector 10 on Friday.Earlier, Suraj displayed great composure to claim his first title of the day by beating Nischay 6-2, 6-2. It was Suraj all the way as he moved swiftly on the court and never allowed his opponent to make a comeback into the match. He carried the momentum in the doubles final also where his camaraderie with Dhruv made the win easy.Meanwhile, Udayan Bhaskar maintained his winning spree when he got the better of Shrey Gupta 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the boys' Under-14 final. After losing the first set, Udayan came back with a solid performance and rallied to win the next two sets in succession to grab the title. The doubles title in the same category went to Shrey Gupta and Param Pun as the duo defeated Rohit Kumar and Vikas Berwal 5-7, 5-4(2), 11-9.Nandini Sharma, meanwhile, won the Under-14 girls' singles title by beating Pooja Maurya 6-3, 7-6(2). In the girls' Under-18 category, it was a long three setter of about three and a half hours between Aashima Garg and Bhavya Wadhawan. Ashima was the winner after a 2-6, 7-6(2), 7-5 win in her favour.
