New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) Heavy rains today evening brought some relief to citizens in the national capital who were facing a rise in mercury and high humidity levels since morning. The rains, which drenched the capital in the evening, measured 12.8 mm till 5:30 pm. As rains eluded the city during the morning hours, the mercury shot up to 37.1 degree Celsius from yesterday''s 32.7 degrees, while the minimum was recorded at 28 degrees as against 25.8 degrees the previous day, MeT officials said. The maximum was one degree above normal while the minimum was normal for this period of time. Humidity was recorded at higher levels. The maximum was recorded at 95 per cent and the minimum 58 per cent. However, the showers also spelt trouble for commuters as vehicles were stuck in traffic jams due to water logging, with the MCD control room receiving as many as 102 complaints of water logging and 11 of trees falling. The MeT department said the weather will remain cloudy and the city is likely to receive few spells of rain tomorrow. PTI SJY.
