Mumbai, July 25 -- Consumer goods player Godrej Consumer Products (GCPL) has registered a sharp rise in its first-quarter profit of 67 per cent as its domestic business grew even as the company completed acquisitions in Indonesia and Argentina. The first-quarter profit stood at Rs 116 crore as against Rs 70 crore for the same period last year. The company is confident that the momentum will continue in the second quarter, partly due to the slew of acquisitions made by the firm over the last one year. International business comprises of 29 per cent of total consolidated revenues.Net sales, during the quarter rose to Rs 643 crore against Rs 437 crore in the quarter-on-quarter period.
