Bhopal, Jul 6 (PTI) Madhya Pradesh BJP President Prabhat Jha today hit back at senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh, who had questioned his standing in the saffron outfit. "Though I don''t have any standing, my party, BJP commands a lot of respect among the people and they have shown you your right place twice (in the polls)," he said in an open letter addressed to the Congress General Secretary. Singh had yesterday questioned the standing of Jha in BJP while interacting with the media persons at his ancestral Raghogarh town in Guna district. The former CM, who lost power in 2003, was reacting to the Jha''s reported comment in Indore comparing Congress veteran Arjun Singh with ''Ravana''. On being dubbed an "outsider", Jha said "it is true that I belong to Bihar, but is it not a fact that Congress President Sonia Gandhi came from Italy." The BJP leader alleged that Singh had a "feudal mindset". He claimed that he commands a lot of affection among his partymen and despite belonging to Bihar, they made him the party chief in Madhya Pradesh. The state BJP chief clarified that, while interacting with media persons in Indore, somebody raised the issue of Arjun Singh''s picture replacing that of Ravana in a film''s poster and asked him who was better among the two. Jha said he had stated at that time that though Ravana had abducted Sita, he did not forget to follow the ''Rajdharam'' and put up her in a garden and behaved in a dignified manner with her. However, this was not the case with Arjun Singh, who, in his capacity as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister during the 1984 Bhopal gas tragedy, "negotiated the release of Union Carbide Corp Chairman Warren Anderson at the cost of thousands of lives, Jha alleged.
