New Delhi, Jul 7 (PTI) National Panthers Party today demanded imposition of Governor''s Rule in Jammu and Kashmir against the backdrop of continuing violence in the state. In a letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, party chief Bhim Singh said, "If the present situation is not checked in time, it may flare up into a dangerous situation against national interest and national security." "The present Chief Minister (Omar Abdullah), has unfortunately, become a security risk and deserves immediate rest and the only solution lies in short spell of Governor''s Rule," the party chief said. Singh claimed that the efforts made by the Prime Minister to restore confidence of people of the state and ensure return of democratic functioning in national interest were going to be diluted if the present government headed by Abdullah was "not given rest at the earliest". He alleged that there was no governance in Kashmir and there was "strong anger" against Abdullah.
