Pepper remains higher on stockists buying

New Delhi, July 7 (PTI) Black pepper rose further by Rs 100 per quintal in the national capital today on increased buying by stockists as well as retailers due to domestic demand. Fall in supplies from producing regions also supported the rise in prices. Black pepper prices rose further by Rs 100 to settle at Rs 19,200-19,300 per quintal. Traders said increased buying by stockists on pick up in domestic demand, mainly pushed up pepper prices on the wholesale market here. Following are today''s quotations (per quintal): Ajwain 14,000-19,000, black pepper common 19,200-19,300, betelnut (kg) 85-105, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 775-780 and cardamom brown -Kanchicut (kg) 875-1,000. Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 1,175-1,350, cardamom (colour robin) 1,435-1,450, cardamom bold 1,460-1,480, cardamom extra (bold) 1,600-1,620 and cloves (kg) 295-375. (MORE) PTI DP SUN RS.
