New Delhi, Jun 23 (PTI) Two youths were arrested here for allegedly making forged driving licences and PAN cards, police said today. Karnail Singh (25) and Yogesh Bhatla (25), both residents of Tilak Nagar, were held from INA Colony yesterday after they came to deliver a forged driving licence to a police decoy, they said. Nine forged driving licences, six forged PAN cards, one computer monitor and CPU, one scanner-printer and several incriminating documents were recovered from them, they said, adding more than 200 passport size photographs of their clients were recovered. "Yogesh used to work as tout and allure persons wanting to get a license. Karnail used to do all the work on the computer including scanning, forging, preparation of document, and printing. Yogesh would then laminate the printed material on to the plastic cards," a senior police officer said. Karnail was running a hardware shop and Yogesh was working at a stationery and document shop near Tilak Nagar Motor Licensing Authority, he said. "They used to charge anywhere between Rs 500 to Rs 1000 for providing license or a PAN card depending on paying capacity of their customer," he said. "In the recent past, during investigation of a number of cases it had come to light that most of the mobile phone numbers being used by criminals had been acquired on fake identity cards including fake driving licenses and PAN cards," he said.
