New Delhi, Jul 19 (PTI) India''s efforts to fight terrorism today recieved a boost with China supporting its call for collective action against the menace at a global Parliamentary meet. Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar, who is attending the World Speakers Conference in Geneva, moved a new para on terrorism for insertion in the Declaration and the first country to extend its support was China. The para on terrorism in the Declaration, to be adopted by the conference, speaks about the seriousness of the threat of terrorism being faced by the humankind and the need to show solidarity and collective action. "China, while supporting the para, suggested a couple of verbal amendments, which were meant to improve the text. The amendments suggested by China were promptly accepted by India," the Lok Sabha Secretariat said. The conference inaugurated by UN Secretary General Ban ki-Moon is being attended by Speakers from 150 countries. It would, among other things, review the progress in meeting the Millennium Development Goals.
