Dehra Dun, Jul 19 (PTI) The Uttarakhand High Court today stayed a notice issued by an inquiry commission to Alok Kumar, former Managing Director of the State Infrastructure and Industrial Development Corporation of Uttarakhand Limited in connection with an alleged scam. Hearing the petition, Justice Tarun Agarwal also asked the state government to send a rejoinder in the matter, which is being probed by Arvind Verma, a retired IAS officer. The Verma commission was set up by the Uttarkhand government in 2007, to probe alleged irregularities by SIDCUL in the development works related to industrial estates of Pantnagar and Sitarganj during the N D Tiwari government. Kumar, who is teaching at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Academy, Mussoorie, had challenged the notice on the ground that the Verma commission had not given the mandatory evidences related to the alleged scandals while sending the notice, his counsel V K Kohli said.
