Hyderabad, Jul 19 (PTI) Former IAS officer Jannat Husain today assumed charge as Andhra Pradesh Chief Information Commissioner. State Governor E S L Narasimhan administered the oath of office to Jannat at a brief function at the Raj Bhavan. Chief Minister K Rosaiah, however, could not attend the programme as his return from New Delhi got delayed, officials said. Jannat belonged to the 1977 batch of IAS. He took voluntary retirement after the state government chose him for the CIC post. He was due for retirement on December 31 this year. He quit IAS while serving as Special Chief Secretary to the chief minister.
