Kolkata, Jul 7 (PTI) The customs authorities today cleared the Karachi-bound ship ''Aegean Glory Kingstown'', carrying military hardware and explosives onboard and detained here since June 26, to sail out of the Kolkata port tomorrow. "Customs clearance for the vessel was received this morning and the Kolkata Port Trust has allowed it to sail out tomorrow escorted by the Customs and the Coast Guard," KoPT Deputy Director (Marine Department) J J Biswas told PTI here. The Liberia-registered ship was carrying a huge quantity of arms, ammunition, explosives, rocket launchers and smoke bombs, he said. The presence of military hardware and explosives on board had been confirmed by the United Nations in a communication to the customs authorities here. The ship, from Chittagong in Bangladesh, was detained by the customs, navy and the police at Diamond Harbour in South 24-Parganas district on June 26 for not submitting relevant documents and papers to the authorities and was later escorted to the N S dock of the Kolkata port. The ship was provided high security as per the International Ship and Port Security Level-3 at the port. PTI PB PC.
