New Delhi, June 24 (PTI) Indicating Centre''s position on NSCN-IM''s demand for a ''greater Nagaland'', Union Minister B K Handique today said it will not be possible to change boundaries of northeastern states. Integration of of all Naga-inhabited areas in the northeast has been a key demanded of Naga militant group NSCN-IM, engaged in peace talks with Centre for over a decade. "It will be difficult to change the borders of northeastern states. If somebody wants a bigger state, then land will have to be taken from other state. There will be stiff resistance to such move," Handique, who hails from Assam, said when asked about the progress on Naga peace talks. The NSCN wants formation of a ''greater Nagalim'' carved out of Naga-dominated areas in Nagaland, as well as Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh, an idea rejected by the three neighbouring states. Earlier this month, another round of peace talks was held between Centre and the NSCN-IM where the contentious issue of integration of Naga-inhabited areas had figured. PTI MPB.
