Rajahmundry (AP), Jul 6 (PTI) Union Minister M M Pallam Raju today said there was a need to encourage education among the Muslim community as suggested by the Sachar Committee. The minority community lags behind others when it comes to education. Muslim parents must ensure that their children get proper education, he said. The minister was speaking at a felicitation function in Kakinada, his Lok Sabha constituency, near here. The government has introduced several measures like Right to Education and Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Programme for the uplift of the downtrodden and weaker sections, the Congress leader said.
